Manny Barros

One of New England’s premier voices is now delighting audiences as a soloist. For over four decades Manny has performed in popular entertainment venues throughout Rhode Island,Massachusetts and Connecticut. His ease onstage is the mark of a true professional who relates warmly to eager audiences.

Barros is currently a soloist in restaurants and clubs. 

But he often appears onstage as “Sammy Davis Jr.” in the area’s touring “Rat Pack” show along with Michael Dutra as “Frank Sinatra” and Steve Palumbo as “Dean Martin”.

The vocalist began his music career as a teenager in the Twilighters band, along with hitmakers Jeffrey Osborne,Victor and Perry ‘Tiny’ Tavares of Tavares, and John Byrd. 

As he matured,Barros became the opening act for leading artists such as Isaac Hayes,Barry White,The Orlons,and The Chiffons.

By the mid 1970’s,Barros was established in Philadelphia (PA) as a songwriter with Joe Jefferson and Charlie Simmons,churning out tunes for the Spinners.

But his love for music and audience demand put Barros back behind the microphone when he formed  Perfect Time,a duo with his long-time friend Milton Javery. Later,Barros added to his performing arts repertoire with encouragement and coaching from Rose Weaver in an off-Broadway tour of Stepping Out. By the early 1980’s,he became the founder and leader of Fokis,a high-energy dance band booked into Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts dance clubs. Eventually,Fokis reorganized and evolved into the act TWYCE. For this enterprise,Barros serves as manager as well as lead vocalist,and the trademark sound of TWYCE is forever etched in the memories of many who attended local weddings,birthdays, bar mitzvahs,bat mitzvahs,and happy holiday parties.
